The Mysterious Shrine - Environment Design

When travelling through the unknown forests, in search of clues to his species' history, Slide stumbles upon a shrine in a beautiful, slightly more open area than most of tree-dense areas of the forest he's seen so far. According to ancient text, the shrine is said to ward off misfortune and be a symbol of gratitude to the forests for all it provided to the ancient civilizations that lived there. As long as the surroundings were maintained properly and respected, the shrine would continue to attract good fortune, but if the forests were to be mishandled or allowed to deteriorate, the shrine would seem the same during the day but bring about terrible fortune to the surroundings throughout the night.
